It was a fervent prayer this morning. One of those moments where the mouth opens and the abundance of the heart pours out. Energized, empowered words of faith. The kind of prayer that makes your head spin as you try to keep up with all the things flowing out. Thoughts of lips turning blue from a lack of oxygen come to mind as I recall that moment. I don't know why it amazes me, but it does.
Are you in the Playoffs? As the 2011-12 NHL Hockey season comes to an end, only a few teams are advancing to the next level... The Playoffs. Are you reaching the Playoffs of your life? ...Just like some teams go home, others continue to play, but it's the ones that set their sights the highest, that want the cup more than anything and play their heart out every second, of every shift, of every game, that get the closest to The Stanley Cup.
I have MUCH to be thankful for this year. Last year Jim and I look back at 2011 as a year of mourning and DEEP sorrow, as we lost Annabelle and our health was at an all-time LOW. We were both at the biggest weights, so unhealthy and had no energy. I could cry just looking at the picture of me from Easter last year compared to the picture of me from Easter this year. What a change God has done in me ... yes physically as you can tell from the picture BUT so much more ...
What Satisfies You? When you think about all the things that come to mind? What brings the most satisfaction to you? Is it still food? Is it something else? I just want to encourage YOU to spend time with God and ask Him to show you this week if there are ANY areas in your heart or your life where you try and find satisfaction instead of Him. REAL satisfaction can only EVER be found in Him, in our ONE TRUE GOD!
My favorite singer/songwriter is John Hiatt. I have had the distinct honor and pleasure of meeting him on numerous occasions. He wrote a song a few years back that contained the line..."I'm just listening to old voices with new ears..." This line has resonated with me for years but never so much as it has in the past few weeks. I have been trying to overcome the negative attitude that is associated with an injury...
