It's definitely Monday, so you might not FEEL like smiling. But did you know that FORCING yourself to smile can actually make you feel better? The expression on your face is affected BY your mood . . . but it also directly AFFECTS your mood.--In other words, if you force yourself to frown all day, you're more likely to be miserable. And if you force yourself to smile, you're more likely to enjoy yourself . . . even at work.
Have you ever had one of those experiences where something you were planning on falls through, but then it ends up being for the better? You planned and prepared, putting time and effort into every last detail and then poof...with as a little as a phone call, the whole thing is called off. Never happened to you? ...I'm writing this today to let you know that ...you might end up being thankful for those moments.
I often have people approach me (in person and online) and ask why I would suggest they join a Biblical diet group like this? Most of them comment with "I don't need anyone to help me lose weight. There are so many "diet plans" available these days. I mean, really....a LOT. What's different about The Grace and Strength Lifestyle? First off, you won't be alone on your journey.
As a little girl, I remember dreaming of what life would be like all grown up. I loved those moments of pure innocence and far stretches of the imagination where I could dream everything in life was beautiful and happy. Those childhood dreams and fantasies became my happy place as my life was in a downhill spiral spinning out of control throughout my entire childhood and well into my adult years. I didn't want to be obese, or even overweight! I grew to hate that word!
A biblical diet....hmmm....that had never crossed my mind. While I leaned on my faith in so many aspects of my life, I never even looked into a faith based program for weight loss. This time last year, my 5 year old son told me that he could walk himself to class during his first week of kindergarten. I was devastated, but pleased because I thought he was expressing his independence. Later, I found out that a few of the kids had called me the "fat mom" when I had dropped him off.
