Nobody likes the idea of feeling weak, being weak, or weakness in general. We want to be strong! We want to be self-sufficient! We want to be in control.
When God tells us that His grace is sufficient, it usually means we are at a point where we must relinquish all control and completely trust Him; trust Him for our peace, trust Him for our answers, trust Him for the ability to endure, and for patience to bear up under every circumstance.
It means we have reached "the end of ourselves" and have come to a point that GOD MUST take over in order for us to overcome.
God says in His word,
"My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness."
To which Paul responded…
"Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me… for when I am weak [in human strength], then I am strong [truly able, truly powerful, truly drawing from God's strength].2 Corinthians 12:9-11 (AMP)
We may not like that there are areas in our lives where we need help, but God has said that His lovingkindness and mercy are MORE THAN ENOUGH! They are ALWAYS available – regardless of the situation. It is actually in these areas of inherent weakness that Christ's power is being perfected in us. Why? Because when we are weak (in human strength) we must truly draw from God's strength. HERE (in this place) we are truly ABLE, truly POWERFUL!
What are your areas of inherent weakness? Where have you done all you can in your own strength, and yet, have not experienced lasting victory? Can I remind you today that God is more than enough? It is in those very places that the power of Christ can completely enfold you, surround you, and empower you. All you have to do is give THIS over to God – whatever "THIS" is for you.
So many times, we don't give God access to our deepest pains, but when we do this we are cutting off our only source of true victory, healing and freedom.
Won't you invite Him in today? He is eager to show you how strong you can be when the power of Christ rests upon you!
