I have struggled with the extra weight for about 5-6 years. Constantly dieting, watching everything I ate and trying to exercise all the time, with no lasting results. The numbers just seemed to continue going up. My career is very hard on me. I work a lot of long days (working 12, 14 & 16 hrs) which are physically and mentally demanding. Most weeks I work 55-60 hrs a week (Mon-Fri). I have 3 extremely busy girls (not yet driving) that keep me on the go constantly, evenings and weekends. I felt like my life was so out of control. I could see myself going down an unhealthy path that was putting more weight on me and depleting my health. My health was probably at its lowest level ever.
Grace and Strength gave me hope by giving me the tools and encouragement that I needed to turn things around. I learned to lean on God, in my times of weakness, to give me strength and the endurance to stay on track. I know I was not the easiest student of Coach Jillyn's but she stuck by me and continued to encourage me.
I still do not have the time I would like to have to devote to taking care of myself but I have learned to make the time I have, better quality time. I am still working on getting more movement and exercise in to each day. I can say, I am in a much better place today than I was 6 months ago. Mostly because I depend on God more to help me make changes instead of trying to do it myself.
